My husband-to-be and I met online almost two years ago. We have kept daily contact since. It is a challenge to have a relationship a long-distance-relationship, but of course you have to make efforts in a different way to maintain it, as opposed to if you could see each other every day. We met in real life for the first time after having known each other for nine months, and the very next day he proposed. At that point we had already sorted out some problems together, which is a challenge when you have to do it via email, instant messaging, or voice calls. But one thing we knew about each other even before we met is that we communicate well with each other.
